Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is just a few days away. New faces are being introduced to the voters each new day. Of late, actors and actresses have been declaring their candidature. Some are surprises while others are just giving overdue announcements. Some of the actors in the Lok Sabha Elections candidates are:

Urmila Matondkar

The Bollywood actress announced on 20th February that she has joined the Congress party. It is highly probable that she will be nominated for Mumbai North seat. If this happens, she will battle against Gopal Shetty of Bharatiya Janata Party. Shetty is the incumbent.

Arshi Khan

She has officially joined the Congress Party and is now Maharashtra’s Vice President.

Dev

Dev is a seasoned veteran politician. He is remembered for flooring Rana in 2014 with a margin of over 2 million votes. He is highly famous for being in acting, singing, film making and in producing.

Nusrat Jahan

The actor and model is making her debut in politics in this election. Nusrat expects to ride on acting and modeling fame to win the debut.

Prakash Raj

His announcement wasn’t a shock to many. Prakash has involved himself in politics. He has remained a critic of the government of Modi especially after the murder of Gauri Lankesh. He is going for Bengaluru Central seat.

Mimi Chakraborty

Mimi is a seasoned actress. After failing to make it in modeling, Mimi joined acting. She has since 2008 appeared in Bengali cinema.

Shilpa Shinde

The television actress joined Congress in February hoping to contest. To date, she hasn’t pronounced herself so clearly on whether she is going for state assembly or Lok Sabha election.

With the fourth phase of elections scheduled for April 29, let’s wait to see who wins. We expect a tough battle between the top political parties.
