Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao formally known as K.C.R is a well-known Indian politician, performing the function of the 1st Chief Minister of Telangana (from 2014). He is also the president of a political party in India – Telangana Rashtra Samithi and a respected member of the Legislative Assembly in Telangana.
Background and Private Life
K.C.R. was born on 17 February 1954 in a Chintamadaka village in Siddipet. After the childhood spent with his 9 sisters and a brother, he decided to study literature and went to Osmania University in Hyderabad. There he obtained a master’s degree. K.C.R. decided that his life companion will be a woman named Shobha, and married her. Their two children are both successful in their field of work. His daughter is an M.P. from Nizamabad, and his son is a legislator from Sircilla, a district in Telangana and also works as the cabinet minister for IT, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Departments as this is most important ever to a number of people.
The youth Congress party was the starting point for Rao’s political career. He later joined the Telugu Desam party 1983. In the following years, he was the Minister of Drought and Relief, Transport minister, and a deputy speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. After leaving TDP, he started to actively fight against discrimination and formed his own party Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Through this party, he strongly fought for a separate state and had a great support from the people. His struggle resulted in the formation of Telangana State, where he serves as the Chief Minister.
Passion and Dedication
K.C.R was the initiator of many projects which serve the people. He significantly improved the condition in irrigation and agriculture and helped in purifying drinking water. He also closely works with farmers, works on improving education, industrial policy, health system, and overall welfare of his people.
