Bhartiya Janata Party Chief, Amit Shah filed his nomination for the Gandhinagar constituency on Monday, the 8th of April. Shah is the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament from the same seat. BJP may have played a big card by replacing the influential leader, Lal Krishna Advani by Shah who will be fighting his first Lok Sabha polls. Political analysts state that sidelining of the 91-year-old Advani, who has never lost in Gandhinagar since 1998 is an indicator of the increasing stature of Amit Shah in the party. It is also seen as a power transfer between generations.
