Rashtriya Janata Dal, in alliance with Indian National Congress and Janata Dal (United), in alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party are going to be the two main contenders in Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, tells that he is confident and he is expecting a good number of Lok Sabha seats in the ongoing elections. He also believes that the popularity of Modi and the credibility of Nitish Kumar are now extinct and the promises they made are not yet fulfilled.
This is the first election for RJD in absence of the party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as he is serving the jail sentence in fodder scam case. We and the people of Bihar are clearly missing him, but his ideology is with us, says Tejashwi Yadav. He also feels that taking forward the political legacy is his responsibility, not a burden.
Tejashwi Yadav is clear in his opinion that Rahul Gandhi is better than Modi and he extends his support to the proposed NYAY scheme by Rahul Gandhi. He say that Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, despite being in alliance with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, has done nothing to the state and farmers of the state.
While believing in equality, he also accepts that caste influences the politics in Bihar. With a development agenda of providing basic needs to the people of Bihar, he says that unemployment, reservations and saving the constitution are going to be three main issues in the ongoing elections.
